Follow a multistep skin-care routine tailored specifically to your skin’s needs.
Perform a hand or foot massage with lotion.
Sip a soothing cup of noncaffeinated or herbal tea—chamomile is great for bedtime.
Spend 10 minutes reading.
Turn on a bedside humidifier.
Listen to meditation music or nature sounds.
Take a series of deep cleansing breaths.
Stretch lightly to prepare your body for bed.
As you practice this routine, you may find that you want to change the order. Continue trying new combinations until you find a routine that makes you feel calm, relaxed, and ready to sleep.
