Hand-Dipped Beeswax Tapers

Classic candlesticks dipped into pure molten beeswax at just the right temperature by a steady hand and a keen eye. These candles are dipped and cooled over twenty times each before a pair can be cut free from the rack. Kept out of drafts, these tapers will burn one inch per hour without drips.

Caring for Beeswax Taper Candles

Don’t trim the wick

After cutting the wick to 1/4″ to separate a pair of tapers, it’s no longer necessary to trim the wick. In fact, a taper’s long, curled wick is essential in preventing drips.

To prevent drips

Keep tapers away from open windows, fans or excessive airflow of any kind. Place your hand behind flame when blowing out.

To minimize smoke

Use a snuffer to minimize smoke and preserve the taper’s delicate burn pool.

Set up strong

Our tapers are a standard 7/8″ at the base. Beeswax is very malleable. If your taper is a bit too large for the holder, it can be twisted securely into place. On the other hand, if your holder is a bit large, simply melt the base of the taper over a flame and allow the softened wax to secure it in the holder.
