What is the difference between muattar, mamoul, and bakhoor?

Muattar consists of oil-soaked wood chips, Mamoul is agarwood powder and oils pressed into disks, and Bakhoor is natural, unfragranced Arabic agarwood incense.

How will I know when the bakhoor is finished?

When the bakhoor stops releasing scent and does not disintegrate even after 3.5 hours of burning, it is time to replace it with a fresh piece.

Can I light the bakhoor directly?

No, bakhoor should not be lit directly as it requires a heat source to release its fragrance. Use a charcoal burner or an electric burner for optimal results.

How long does the bakhoor scent last?

The aroma from our Scent of Arabia Bakhoor typically lasts 3 to 3.5 hours when used with our Maison d’Orient oud bukhoor burner.

Can I burn bakhoor on charcoal?

Yes, you can use charcoal, an electric burner, or a candle light smokeless burner to enjoy the Scent of Arabia bakhoor. Note that the candle light burner produces the least fume and a milder aroma. Always observe safety precautions when burning incense.

Is bakhoor safe for pets?

Use bakhoor cautiously around pets; ensure ventilation and monitor their response.

Can I use it with bukhoor burners hair comb or bakhoor oud hair brush?

It will work just fine if the diffuser generates enough heat to burn and smoke the resin chips.

Is this bukhoor for men or women?

Our bukhoor oudh is unisex, however when it comes to layering, we recommend using it before applying amber oud perfume for men, and soft oud perfume for women.

Can I burn bakhoor using the same hookah coals?

Yes, just make sure the type of hookah charcoal you are using does not generate a smell or additional smoke when you burn it as that will mix with the smell of our bakhoor.
