Presented for the first time in one volume are several transcriptions of original grimoire manuscripts: The 1788 work “Romanus-Buchlein”, translated into English, John George Hohman’s “Pow-Wows; or, Long Lost Friend”, L.W. deLaurence’s “Albertus Magnus’ Egyptian Secrets”, Johnson Smith & co.’s “The Book of Forbidden Knowledge”, and A. Monroe Aurand Jr.’s “Popular Home Remedies and Superstitions of the Pennsylvania Germans”. It is unlikely that any historical Braucher would have owned or read every manuscript in this compilation, as most were published decades apart and received by widely different audiences, although most would have owned at least one of these grimoires.
